Procedural and Surgical Dermatology
Acne and Acne Scarring
- Acne is the most common skin condition, affecting over 40 million people in the U.S. Its cause is multifactorial and while it mostly affects teenagers and young adults, it can persist into adulthood and lead to significant physical and emotional distress.
- The treatment of acne depends on the type and severity of the breakouts and will be tailored to each individual patient and skin type
- Our treatment approach: The goal of treatment is complete acne clearance, not just improvement. Dr. Boker will design a custom therapeutic regimen for you including recommendations for daily skin care, diet and lifestyle adjustments. He will tailor a treatment plan using a combination of topical mediations (antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and comedolytic agents) and if appropriate suggest starting an oral medication (antibiotics, isotretinoin) or a procedure (such as localized cortisone injections, chemical peels, lasers, microneedling) to fully address and correct every aspect of the condition.
